Final audience numbers from the 2011 ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships live video broadcast have been made public. They are as follows:
– 11,022 unique connections to desktop and laptop PCs/Macs and internet-ready televisions
– 5018 unique connections to mobile devices of the live streaming video
– audience members from 22 countries watched the broadcast
– 17 hours 13 minutes of live broadcast time over three days
“This was our second broadcast in just 22 days, which provided us with a significant logistical challenge,” said KRN manager Jonathan Leonard. “We were extremely pleased with the support for the Canadian event, particularly the incredible response that we got from the mobile streaming video. We surpassed the audience numbers from the 2010 broadcast by a fair margin, and as ever, total viewership exceeds these numbers, as many of the racers’ family and friends gather around a single computer or internet-ready television in order to watch the action on KRN. Our sincere thanks to everyone at ASN Canada, Circuit Mont-Tremblant, and Canadian Tire for making this event such a success!”
